Wintering pt. 2
“Do you have the patience to wait
Till your mud settles and the water is clear?
Can you remain unmoving
Till the right action arises by itself?”
―Lao tzu
Living in between career chapters feels a bit like wandering through a fog—uncertain, disorienting, and, at times, maddening. As I navigate this season, I’m embracing the process of asking big questions about what truly matters and how I can align my passions, strengths, and values in my next career pivot. To start, I’ve been reflecting on the moments in my career when I felt most alive—those times when I was doing my best work and felt deeply satisfied. These moments are breadcrumbs leading toward a path where my skills, interests, and impact intersect.
I’m also taking stock of my portfolio of competencies, ensuring I have a wide lens on what I’m good at. But I’m not stopping there. I’m allowing space to explore areas where I may not yet be an expert but feel a spark of curiosity. There’s freedom in trying something new without the weight of having to prove anything. This season isn’t just about professional recalibration; it’s about redefining purpose in my daily life. What habits can I build to carve out time for exploration, self-care, and connection? What does it look like to live more intentionally, creating a life that values relationships, mentorship, collaboration, and continuous growth over titles and linear progress?
This wintering season is allowing me to cultivate a quiet confidence grounded in authenticity, resilience, and growth.
